The day is finally here!  The original six Star Wars films are released digitally today.  This is perfect for Star Wars fans that travel a lot.  You can take the Force with you wherever you go!  In order to promote this digital release, Hasbro has released a series of 6 commemorative action figure packs (one for each movie).  These commemorative packs each contain four different figures.

Episode 1: R2-D2. Queen Amidala, Battle Droid, Darth Maul

Episode 2: Mace Windu, Clone Trooper, Jango Fett, Super Battle Droid

Episode 3: Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Emperor Palpatine

Episode 4: Han Solo, Chewbacca, C-3PO, Stormtrooper

Episode 5: Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Bossk, IG-88

Episode 6: Luke Skywalker, Boba Fett, Wicket, Scout Trooper

These commemorative packs are perfect for collectors as the figures are neatly packed in boxes and can be displayed easily.  The boxes have an outer sleeve which you can remove in order to see the figures.  The figures have 5 points of articulation and most of the figures come with accessories (lightsabers, blasters, etc.).  Each box retails at $19.99 which works out to be cheaper per figure than buying them individually.  With the price of action figures going up, these commemorative packs are great for young collectors who want the main characters without spending an arm and a leg for 4 different figures.

Hasbro did something similar to this back in 2013 when the Star Wars movies were released on Blu Ray.  Each movie had it's own commemorative pack.  It is constantly a challenge for companies like Hasbro to continue to make packaging for their figures and merchandise that will be appealing to fans.  One unique thing about the Blu Ray commemoratives as well as these new Digital Release commemoratives, is that if you line up the boxes in order from the side, you can see a very appealing Star Wars image.
